October 31, 2011 the American Institute for Cancer Research issued a press release on their study linking 100,000 cases of cancer yearly to inactivity. Their recommendation? Getting up from your desk for 1 to 2 minutes every hour. Findings indicated that moderate physical activity provided a risk reduction of 25-30 %. The Movement Protocol doesn’t only provides users with an opportunity for moderate physical activity once an hour, we’ve fine tuned those two minute breaks so that while reducing your risk for cancer you are doing stretches that target the parts of the musculoskeletal system most likely to be injured by the same sedentary behavior putting you at risk for cancer.
